Paper Cuts
I love the contrast and sharpness that papercuts have, not lino print and not a painting but having some of the characteristics of both.

Shetland knit seagull
Won first prize in the craft and design category in the 2016 Shetland Open at the Bonhoga Gallery.

Red phone box and wheel barrow
Many years ago we had the job of painting phone boxes on a west coast island, this is a K6 kiosk, there are few left now, we undercoated them pink first, they looked very strange.

Bressay light and cyclist
Like many people I have a great fondness for lighthouses, their history is fascinating, how they were built, the quality of their build, they are usually in invigorating places and as a sailor they keep me safe.

Creel boat under the cliffs
How do they get the courage to go so close, scares me to see them in the swell and surf under the cliffs.

LERWICK FOR THE PEERIE SHOP
I love the contrast of colours along the front in Lerwick and the gabbles of all the buildings vying for a better view.

STROMNESS
The life boat came out to a boat I was on one day, so glad they are there, we are very lucky to have them, we take them so much for granted, help them when you can you just never know.

CROFTER AT WORK
Shetland is inspiring in so many ways, one of my favourites is seeing folk working in their gansies.

PONY AT THE BEACH
They look so cute but they can have such a temper, but it's hard to take them seriously, until they bite, grrrr...

SCALLOWAY SHETLAND TRANSPORT
Scalloway has everything, and it all still works, it's not for show.

MENDING NETS FOR SEAGULLS
Stinky snacks for seagulls get thrown from the net menders, my dogs like them too, but not if I can help it.

THE SWAN, AND OTHER SEA LIFE
Mermaids do chase fish and pull their tails, they're not all sweetness and light and long lovely hair, some of them are mean, nasty and tricksey.

DIVERSITY OF ORKNEY
I was so spoilt for choice on Orkney, there is so much, what to do first, where to go first, it's easy to be overwhelmed.

CAPITAL CITY
I loved doing the pigeons in Edinburgh, reminded me of the song, 'park life' they are so naughty, and just a bit scruffy.
